good interview The fight itself went by in a bit of a blur but I do remember making a hash of the first round and going down for only the third time in my career. I think it was one of those slippery American canvases that I'd be warned about — or at least that's what I told dad when I went back to the corner and he asked me what happened! LOL
Thx for the link! "Unfortunately, Hopkins refused to offer any congratulations to me at the post-fight Press conference, which was disappointing. I take my hat off to him because he's a great fighter — it's a shame he couldn't do the same to me. But that's just the way he is, I guess. There's no hard feelings on my part to Hopkins and I'd like to wish him well whether he fights on or retires." This man is pure class!
its obviously written by some douchebag from the sun and approved by someone of Calzaghe's management team
Honestly your so stupid its very embarrassing... The sun paper is well know in britain and joe has mention he will be bloging to the sun readers on his up coming fight in LV.
I hope Calzaghe dont retire after Jones. He still has alot left. 2 or 3 more fights against Pavlik, Bute/JT, Dawson would be nice. Heck he could even get to that 50 fights and retire undefeated. Just think, in 2 years time most likely the top 4 p4p would be retired, PBF, Pac, Cal & JMM.
The Sun is well known for being the worst newspaper in Britain. Not saying they've mis-quoted Joe or anything but if any paper would do it then that paper would be The Sun. Not sure I'd use the phrase 'pure class' about Calzaghe 48 hours after he punched his opponent in the nuts and then humped the back of his head when he went down.
