Didn't Clottey come in weighing like a LHW for the Corrales fight?

Clottey said he weighed in 175!

"I take that fight in short notice 1month so it was very hard for me to make the weight and on the day of the weigh i weigh 9pounds over so i have only 2hours to make 147 so after i make it the food, drinks and anything just go to my stomach easy so the day of the fight i weigh 175 but i told the person who weigh me to make it 170 pls are u people happy now and its pass so lets forget it cos its remind me of Corrales R.I.P "

Lol jesus , he is a beast... how do you think he'll do against Cotto if he weighs 175 on fight night? I think Cotto comes in around 158

He'd probably beat Miguel if he came it at 175.

Hell he'd have a good shot at beating Pavlik if he came at 175!

12 rounds is enough...there is always a rematch if the people would still want to find out who is really the better man

It's a "ten point must" system, so a drawn round would be 10-10. Some judges don't like giving even rounds too often but they do happen. Surely you've seen a round where there was nothing to pick between the fighters? Where giving the round to one would be a disservice to the other fighter.

I wouldn't like to see a return to the fifteen round days.

Has there been a death in the UFC? I thought that there had been no deaths or serious injuries in the whole history of the UFC.

He won't come in at 175 against Cotto. That was a one off. Besides, it's illegal for him to do so. If he weighs in at 147, he'll probably rehydrate to no more than 156.

On topic, no. 15 rounders were scrapped for a reason, to protect the safety of fighters and reduce the risk of ring-death or brain damage.

hmm says... not really in favor of 15 rounds.....shiet I did 15 rounds sparring before and it's tiring as fack. If we can't have 15 rounds then at least come up with a system that would eliminate draws and controversial split decisions so fans won't get upset...... something like an overtime round

15-13 RDS. fights as well as same day weigh-ins would be great for the sport imo. Bring it on!!!

15 rounders were good but you have to think of the safety of these guys too. Imagine if Vasquez and Marquez went 15 rounds?

Actually, this is completely false. In fact, the evidence shows that deaths are MORE common PRIOR to the 12th round than after:

    http://ejmas.com/jcs/jcsart_svinth_a_0700.htm

Bouts were shortened not because of any evidence that showed that deaths were more likely in the championship rounds; in fact, the evidence showed just the opposite. They were shortened to fit boxing into the one-hour TV time slots which were the most common broadcast outlets for fights in those days. The death of boxer Deuk Koo Kim was simply used as a pretext for this.

It is a travesty that should be reversed! Bring back the championship rounds!!

if they made fights 15 rounds.... the smarter fighters would just cruise for the first 2-3 rounds.... as cautious as people are in america they wouldn't allow 15 rounds... regardless of if the boxers wanted to do it or not
