   I don't think tougher is the right word. Jeffries had a better chin but Sharkey's brain did not process pain like a normal human. Jeffries broke many things in Sharkey during their fights, yet he soldiered on in those long rounds

   You're right, I should have said had a better chin, rather than tougher.
   
   Though on Jeffries side, he think he was fighting Sharkey with an injured arm.
