The thing about Molina is that while he seems to be underwhelming in physical ability and/or talent... He has very well schooled fundamentals. He fought a fantastic fight against Cintron and Lara. Great head movement, he understands how to lead against a bigger, rangier guy, ties up at the right time, fairly accurate. He's a good fighter working with much less than some other guys do.
Any combination of Molina, Lara and Wolak is going to be fun. Lara is capable of being boring, but neither of them would allow him that luxury. Molina and Wolak make you FIGHT.
dont forget Molina vs JCC Jr!... that was not a close fight, it was a robbery without scorecards! somebody following?
I think the Wolak fight is testament to Delvin Rodriguez I dont know why but i dont like him as a fighter but he will go into the lions den and fight anybody hylatswayo in africa Jackowickz in Poland I see Wolak winning clearly here and these 3 are all solid contenders in a good weight class beleive it or not my favorite guy at the weight is K9 and he has called out everyone and deserves a good fight any of these 3 would be good but id rather 2 of the 3 fight each other before stepping up to a Cotto or Alvarez
Lara suffers from amateur lackadasicality- I've seen signs of this in Solis, Rigo, Alexander, and a couple others. If yer a pro, ya gotta fight :bbb...(or at least look like you're trying)
Lara didn't prepare for such a tough contest and had a bad game plan looking for big shots instead of boxing his way through. I go as far as Diaz seems to be better corner than Sheilds. Erislandy takes the rematch by a comfortable margin. Maybe not as comfortable as he beat Williams. lol
I was thinking this during the fight. Winners fight each other, losers fight each other. But, like...real winners, not Williams.
:yep Actually that way would be fun too, for different reasons. Molina-Williams and Lara-Cintron wouldn't be remotely competitive (like Molina-Lara II and Williams-Cintron II each would be) but they would both produce knockout of the year candidates. (or at least more stomping of the year candidates).
I honestly can't believe Kermit lost...why did I invest so much time and belief into this guy? :verysad:-verysad Yeah I'd be up for that scenerio but Lara "lost" so it isn't going to happen. Get Williams in there against Alvarez or Cotto. He deserves a big fight, he boxed at an elite level despite have the technical nuances of a 12-56-3 journeyman.
He was genuinely, a very good boxer puncher. It destroys my faith in boxing when technically solid boxer punchers just...fail with extra fail sauce and fail fries.
Who do you think was better for him, and who was more damaging: Steward or Shields? He had Emanuel from like Margarito I (?) to Margarito II, and Shields ever since I believe. Or was it never a question of who the head trainer was? Cintron might just be the type who never had the intangibles and mental fortitude to match his physical gifts and was always bound to get smacked down when rising to challenges at the highest level. :think I saw a lot of people making thinly veiled excuses for Cintron last night. Honestly I don't know that he ever beats Molina, no matter how good a camp he has or who's in his corner. A very good, crafty pressure fighter who isn't scared of his power is pretty much always going to beat Kermit.
Those who are picking Lara - are you mostly just buying into the "Lara was not properly trained" excuse, or do you feel that he's been on a steeper improving trajectory since then than Molina has? :think
The latter, i think he will improve more. He needs a real challenge though, dude is a lackadaisical boxer and i hate that. which is probably why the lesser talented molina was able to beat him(imo)
