It is a pick em imo. Stevens has more power and is younger, but Brinkley is the better technician of the two easily and harder to hit flush than it appears, plus he has a pretty good chin, though he doesn't take it to the body well. Fight doesn't mean much, the winner probably gets the right to be destroyed by Bute, but it should be reasonably entertaining. It's either going to be Brinkley by decision or Stevens by stoppage, gonna go with Brinkley myself.
I know Brinkley is a decent fighter when he is motivated and well trained, but is Stevens that good ?
He is the underdog because he should be. I'm a betting man myself, but I wouldn't touch this one. Stevens is a good fighter with a solid amateur background, good chin and and good power. He is short though, but I don't expect Brinkley to be able to keep him on the outside like Dirrell was able to. I think Stevens knocks him out.
I really thought those odds were too generous for Brinkley at the time, I thought for sure Stevens would knock him out in 2.
When this thread first came up I thought about putting something on Brinkley, or at least some vCash. Damn!!! The paralysis of analysis took me down! I never got around to making any kind of a bet.
