All the press materials and advertising beforehand said it was 12 rounds.

I didn't bet at the NZ TAB, but if I did, I would have bet on Botha and I would have been spewing. I'd be demanding a refund. If you bet on a 12 round fight and get a 10 round fight, you got robbed. That's gotta be illegal. :fire

Agree, SBW looked pretty decent in with someone with much more experience. He held his own ok.

He was gone come round 11 though, certainly something shifty going on with the amount of rounds. :blood

I didn't write any scores down, but I reckon SBW probably edged it by a round.

I didn't score it but it was definitely a Williams win and he did better than i expected. That said, he was gone for all money and I don't think his legs would've been back by the beginning of the 11th.

SBW talking last week about coruption this is the most blantant corruption of seen, thats why the ring annoucer kept annoucing SBW as sonny boy williams. I lost all respect for him if you can get the fight shortened when your losing and on your way to canvas he should give the belt to botha.

I gave Botha the 1st, 9th (9 all round) and 10th (10-7 Botha with 1 Kd and 1 point off SBW which gave SBW a nice 15 second rest.) The 1st was debatable giving it to Botha but there were a few other rounds like the 5th or 8th which you could have given Botha.

    Official cards:

    Steve Marshall 97-95 Williams
    Alan Moore 98-94 Williams
    Adam Height 97-91 Williams

    IB scorecard: 95-93 Williams

I had SBW sweeping 1-5 with the jab (and Botha not doing anything), and gave him the 7th.

Botha first hurt him in the 6th and kept him shy, and that pattern only intensified in the 8th, 9th, and 10th. If Williams weren't allowed to get away with so much holding he would've been KTFO by the end of the 10th. The point deduction should've come much sooner, and if Williams kept it up at the same rate he should've been disqualified.

The 9th was 9-9 (Botha round, but he lost a point for hitting on the break) and the 10th was 10-8 Botha with SBW docked for holding.

I had Sonny Bill winning the fight, both had point's deducted most of the fight Sonny jabbed the hell out of him stealing rounds, till around the 9th 10th so that tells me he wins closer then the actually cards but by no means a robbery on the score cards.

The biggest farce is it should have been 12 rounds as it was announced but they called it at 10 rounds, and I believe Botha would have knocked him out in the 11th as Sonny was spent.
