He made Ring magazines top 100, and his KO ratio is unbelievable... But was Bad Bennie a accumulation puncher, or a true slugger? I think he might be a bit of both. I'm extremely impressed by his one round blowout of Eugene Hart, which no one else ever did, and he did badly buzz Monzon, among other things. Thoughts?
He's a confusuing fighter. He looks like a nasty brawler, and sometimes his shots don't look hard at all. Then all the sudden, WHAM! He's probably the best definition of a Philadelphia fighter. It's hard to gauge how good he really was since he lost a lot of his biggest fights, but then again he's got wins over such greats like Vicente Rondon, Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, and Eugene Hart. Not too mention he took on everybody after he already lost to them, for example he took on Eugene Hart twice (never lost to him, Drew with him and then KO'ed Hart in 1), Rodrigo Valdez THREE TIMES, and Monzon twice. Most fighters these days are afraid to take on one person who might beat them.
He hit hard enough to back up Hagler with body shots and make Marvin box from the outside for the rest of the fight.
