I quite agree, but someone claimed that Hagler beat a MW puncher the likes of what Monzon didn’t face (I know Hagler fought him also). I wanted to see if I missed something?
We're talking about a guy who went life and death with Hard Rock Green... how the Hell is he gonna keep off Bad Bennie?
really depends. briscoe had a very good chin……..but mugabi had the type of power that could dent next to any chin. and briscoe could only fight going Forward. and was very hittable. not the type of style you´d want to have vs mugabi. so i could see briscoe stopping mugabi late. but i could also see Foreman vs frazier like demolition Job in favor of mugabi.
No, Mugabi's power was overrated. He wasn't Jackson. He wasn't Benn. The man never KO'd any quality fighter, never KO'd any fighter with proven durability. What Valdez did to Briscoe... Mugabi could not do. Valdez was a bigger puncher than Mugabi, and a far more effective one. Mugabi wasn't that good.
As a big Philly fan, can you tell me why Briscoe lose 23 decisions and drew 5 times? Forget the Monzon and Hagler fights, I see losses a draws in there vs guys I never heard of. Several of them. Were all these fights on the level? Many of the losses were in Philly. Was Briscoe just not that good of a boxer? You tell me, something's not adding up.
both could fight their butts off .. Briscoe isn't going anywhere the man could roll .. so it would come down to if mugabi could win on points ..or survive .. if mugabi stays sturdy and fights his A game .. I could see him winning a close decision ..but if he's not sturdy .. which going by the past experiences..he wont be .. Briscoe takes it ..breaks him down and takes him out in 10
