Whats the classics take on this match up? I thought about posting it in the general but decided that i needed people to know who Bennie Briscoe was.

Its 15 rounds, 8 oz gloves. Who wins and how? :good

Briscoe of 1972 to 1975 vs. Pavlik of today. Briscoe by late round KO. Briscoe would walk him down and punish him to the body until he stopped him. However, I see Briscoe taking a lot of punishment to do so.

However, Pavlik when he beat Miranda and Taylor (I) may have had more of a chance.

Briscoe would break Pavlik down and dispose of him like he did Tony Mundine, maybe by the 6th round. Briscoe was like a tank.

This is a prime vs prime matchup and it would be fascinating to see if Briscoes iron chin could stand up to Pavliks bombs.

Briscoe is much much more proven than Pavlik. Something that shouldn't be forgotten. Pavlik is great when he can force his opponent to fight his fight, making him back up in a straight line and throw is one-two down the pipe. I think Briscoe wouldn't let him do this for long parts of the fight. Add to that Briscoes better chin and you have a win for him. Pavlik is no walk over for him but would be KOed in the midrounds.

    Briscoe would steamroll Pavlik.
