Berto on points. If he uses his speed and doesn't get involved in exchanges, he could make it look relatively easy. Urango is too slow and plodding plus he loads up on his punches - I can't see his style posing too many problems for Berto.
Berto himself claims he can make 140. He may be big on fight night, but Hatton has made 160 from 140 lbs. Berto is no Marg or Williams, they are BIG welters. Berto is a good-sized one. I wouldn't even say he's as big as Cotto, and Berto's midsection isn't that well-defined. He also has a shaky chin, overrated power and too much belief that he has better abilities than he actually has. Collazo was robbed against him, and this fight against Urango shows how much faith his promotors have in him. Even a Cintron-level fighter would beat him IMO. Luckily, he has enough heart and balls to earn my respect, and I love to watch him fight :good
No way could Berto make 140 without chopping a leg off, he's a big welterweight (certainly not a small one!!). Hatton has never made 160 on fight night from 140, always 152-154.
I was going to make one of my threads on this fight as its one thats caught my attention, somehow I never quite got round to it. Berto should stop him, it depends if he sits down on shots or tries to keep away from Urango and sacrifice leverage.
Picked Berto stoppage but I ment Berto UD. 9-3. But he needs to keep focused for 12 rounds and not get caught through lack of concentration like he did against Rivera.
I think Berto can stop Urango, a lot depends on whether he "goes" for the stoppage or settles for a points win IMHO.
It will depend on Urango's relative strength and power at welterweight since that is all he trades on as to firstly how great his chance is and secondly how likely it is he boxes 12. If they are still at the top level and Berto has to concede ground to that and box he may have to settle for points on flashier and more effective work. If he's not that strong compared to a well built guy like Berto he's got little chance of lasting because Berto will tee off on him from mid range with the speed and skill difference.
Is berto a big welterweight??? i dont think he is. He is 'big'(mass/muscle) but it looks like he can cut down from 147. Hes quite stocky.
Collazo beat the crap out of Berto, but the criminal judges gave it to Berto. Urango will have to knock Berto out to get a split decision.
Berto UD. I'm suprised Berto gets a lot of flack. He's a good fighter and the hype job label doesn't really stick in my opinion. He'll be too quick for Urango and win a comfortable UD.
Yep. Staying up for this. More for the Cintron-Angulo fight than anythign else. Anyone know what time they will start?
