Also you don't score a 9-9 for an even round with a knockdown for both fighters, its a 10-10.......;O)

    Boza Edwards 114-113 Chacon

Brilliant fight. A lot closer on my card than I thought it really was when I watched it years ago (without using a scorecard). The impression I got then was that despite the Chacon comeback Boza had inflicted such a beating in the middle rounds he easily deserved it (I thought the decision was a robbery). But with the kd's added onto the last three rounds for Chacon, it really is anyone's fight. Quite amazing how Chacon actually lasted as long as he did, with what he took from round 1 through to about round 8 or 9.

Was anyone else surprised by their scores? I didn't keep a running score and when the fight finished I was guessing mine would add up to a 4-5 point win for Boza. I was pretty shocked to find I'd ended up with just a 2 point margin.

Right, everything is updated on the first page now. Average scorecard was 115-114 Martinez, which proves just how close this fight was:yep. Thanks again to everyone who kept this thread alive in my absence; it made it a hell of a lot easier for me to update:thumbsup.

I think its the first two rounds that do it.

You get the impression Boza is winning everything up to about round 8, but on my card the kd's in the first and second rounds caused a four point swing towards Chacon, which is pretty massive in a 12 round fight.

Its just a subconscious thing. Your watching the fight, thinking Boza is dominating Chacon, except for a couple of flash kd's. But those flash kd's are huge in the grand-scale of things.

Chacon - Boza-Edwards II will run until next week. Then we'll do a more 'recent' fight and go back to a classic one after that. I think JMM-Pac II had the most support to be the next fight, but if anyone else has any suggestions then feel free to put them out there. I wouldn't mind doing Froch-Kessler or Haye-Valuev as both are really recent and were somewhat controversial (although I don't personally understand why anyone would think Valuev came close to winning the Haye fight:huh).

FWIW I'd rather not watch Haye-Valuev again. A couple of suggestions for somewhere down the line are Meldrick-Taylor - Howard Davis, the classic "crossroads" fight and Colin Jones vs. Milton McCrory I, the razor thin fight for the vacant WBA title.

    I'd be happy with Froch/Kelseer:good

Toney/McCallum 1 is another for further down the line
