    TAPIA vs AYALA

    Round 1: Tapia 10-9
    Round 2: Ayala 10-9
    Round 3: Ayala 10-9
    Round 4: Tapia 10-9
    Round 5: Tapia 10-9
    Round 6: Tapia 10-9
    Round 7: Tapia 10-9
    Round 8: EVEN 10-10
    Round 9: Tapia 10-9
    Round 10: Tapia 10-9
    Round 11: EVEN 10-10
    Round 12: Ayala 10-9

    Tapia Wins 117-113

Brilliant fight, but I thought Tapia won it quite handily. I think I was even being a bit generous giving Ayala a share of Rounds 8 and 10. Ayala was magnificent in Rounds 2 and 3, but I think Tapia's cleaner and more authoritative punches from Round 4 onwards gave him a clear edge in the contest.

Did anyone love that wee gem from the commentator (Pacheco was it?) early in the contest:

"Tapia has Freddie Roach in his corner, one of the greatest fighters I have ever seen............when he was a kid".

Nice get out at the end there.

That was an amazing fight:shock:, never seen it before. I found Round 7, i think 9 and obviously 10 bloody hard to score. I think you're right about Tapia having the overall edge in the fight, although Ayala was throwing some beautiful brutal combo's Tapia seemed pretty consistent but close all the same.

A really great brutal fight, I loved the sound of the whistling, baying crowd knowing they have witnessed something special. It brings out something primal in fight fans :yep

This thread has been great for introducing fights which others have not seen but should watch and a good excuse for revisting for people that have.:rasta

I did it with photoshop using the Tapia picture and a scroll, then inputting my scores, change the fonts and have a fiddle with the overall look mate. I just enjoy doing them.;)

Who's your Avi is that Montiel? I'm starting to think that's you:D

    Yeah, its Montiel.

I fall into that trap with the avatars as well.

I've always pictured Gaz as big-assed black lady with massive tits, even though he hasn't been sporting that kind of avatar in a while.

Same with TFFP - he'll always be Mikkel Kessler.

I thought Tapia nicked the first round, then had awful problems with Ayala's infighting ability in the 2nd and 3rd. From the fourth on I think the rounds became a mixture of inside and outside fighting, and I saw Tapia bossing the battle on the outside, and handling himself better on the inside than he did in the 2nd and 3rd, giving as good as he got. That's why he won most of the later rounds on my card.

My scorecards a bit out of whack with everyone's else, but that's the way I saw it.

:roflYeah Gaz needs to get Back 2 Black...

Yeh the Chisora Avi don't quite fit, Kessler one yes but I still think of him as the Mr Man character with the Icelandic flag

It depends when you start looking at it considering it's on a constant loop.
