I think that's what I had last time I watched it. Will give it another look and see if I come out with anything different.

Not from what I saw. Both were very close rounds. Kessler showed better skill and technique (as he did the whole fight) but I felt that in the last 3 rounds Froch landed the cleaner, harder punches. Kessler actually landed very few clean shots, most of his punches hit Froch's arms or shoulders.

Story of the fight in my opinion. From what I remember, Kessler didn't land many clean, solid shots all night. It was the sheer workrate that got him the win in my opinion.

Yep. That and the fact that the fight was held in Denmark.

When I first watched the fight I felt that Froch might have nabbed it, but after watching it again I think Froch certainly deserved the decision. There were loads of close rounds though.

Agreed, would have been a different story were it not in Denmark. However, even all the Danish fans that surrounded me thought that Froch won. They shook our hands afterwards thinking our man had done it.

But I do agree, there were a lot of close rounds, and they could be argued either way.

I'll have another look at it tonight before the Leeds game..... but it's probably the case that Tillerman gave Froch the last two to make his card look something like, even though it was still way off.

Of all the close-ish rounds to give to Carl.... surely the first and 8-10 would have been better?

Think I had Kessler by a point or two, a couple either way is fine for me.

Much closer fight than I remembered. Before I totted up my card I though Froch might have nicked this. And whilst the final few rounds were great this is not FOTY. Still was a good fight though.

Apologies once again for not updating this thread when I said I would and consequently letting down the posters who have been adding their scorecards. I've been really busy all week and just haven't had the time. I promise that I'll update the first page tomorrow. Thank you once again to the contributors to this thread.

    Rnd 11 Kessler
    Rnd 12 Froch

    114 - 114.

Hadn't watched this fight since it took place, it was a lot closer than I remember it being. Froch actually boxed better in the first 5 than I gave him credit for (at the time). He then wasn't active enough for me, before picking up the pace from rnd 9 onwards

    What's up next??

The fight stank. Sauerland & Co. were celebrating before the results were read out. If Kessler was on his feet at the end he was always going to win. That's boxing tho :-(

It was a close fight which could have gone either way, unfortunately for Froch it wasnt to be, he certainly is in no position to complain considering many thought he lost to Dirrell in England.
