Also, just finished watching Martinez-Williams. I'd have given it as a draw or one round to Martinez. Williams just throws a lot, which keeps it competitive, but he's inaccurate and he's like a feather duster when he lands.

Martinez was beating the **** out of him. That deserved more credit. 118-110? ****ing joke.

    Round One: 10-9 Leonard
    Round Two: 10-9 Leonard
    Round Three: 10-9 Leonard
    Round Four: 10-9 Leonard
    Round Five: 10-9 Hagler
    Round Six: 10-9 Leonard
    Round Seven: 10-9 Hagler
    Round Eight: 10-9 Hagler
    Round Nine: 10-9 Hagler
    Round Ten: 10-9 Hagler
    Round Eleven: 10-9 Leonard
    Round Twelve: 10-10 Draw

Sugar Ray Leonard 115 - 114 Marvin Hagler

The 5th, 6th and 12th were big swing rounds for me. I found it very hard to seperate them in those ones, but I just went with my gut instinct in the 5th and 6th, and thought that so little happened in the 12th (Hagler landed the harder blows, while Leonard landed more punches, but of a "lighter" variety) that i'd make it a 10-10, thereby giving Leonard the win.

Round 9 was amazing - one of the best round of boxing I've seen. Punches flying everywhere, dazzling combos from Leonard, but with Marvin landed real telling shots with Leonard trapped on the ropes. Real back-and-forth ****.

What seemed obvious, at least after the second round, was that Leonard's general plan was to move for the first minute to first minute and a half of every round, staying off the ropes and out of the corners, making Marvin miss, but not really throwing many of his own punches. In the second half of the round you saw him pick it up more, and he won a lot of his rounds that way.

Yep, the first one was Hatton-Collazo and TFFP, rather leadingly, had the thread title as "DODGY decisions....".

I watched it on closed circuit at the time and have watched it numerous times since and I have always come up with the same score, 115-114 for Leonard. Can't remember the round by round but I know I had Leonard winning the first four rounds and Hagler winning the 5th and the 9th.

I have a few suggestions for future fights to cover:

Diego Corrales v Joel Casamayor II
Manny Pacquiao v Juan Manuel Marquez I
Manny Pacquiao v Juan Manuel Marquez II
Israel Vasquez v Rafael Marquez III

Was that controversial? I just thought it was close, but Vazquez was the clear winner with the last round KD.

Typical. Gaz picks the fight and the bugger hasn't even scored it!:lol:

All good suggestions, but we'll have to wait to see what others think as well. I'd rather do a more recent fight next like Martinez-Williams or Froch-Kessler to make the thread a little more relevant to the current scene, but I wouldn't complain if anyone wanted to score the JMM-Pac fights again (if TFFP did, infact, do those before). Same goes for the others mentioned. I don't mind. If TFFP has already covered some before and people want to score them again (so long as they're not really **** fights to watch:lol:), then I'd be happy to go along with it.

Suggestions are open so everyone can recommend a fight in the next few pages or if they want to go along with any of the other suggestions, such as the ones D-MAC has posted. People still have a week and a bit to score this fight, if they wish to do so, of course. I think two weeks per fight is just long enough (if anyone wants to change it to a bit longer then please say), and hopefully it'll stop the thread stagnating.

    Keep scoring, peeps:banana.

I can't remember how the old thread worked, but do we do a "wrap-up" at the end of the two weeks, showing who the Brit Forum majority thought won a particular fighter?

We could stick the results in your opening post to the thread, like a "fights covered already" section, which means posters will be able to keep track of what fights we've covered already and who the majority thought won each contest. Just a simple result will do, for example:

    Fight 1
Sugar Ray Leonard v Marvin Hagler

Sugar Ray Leonard wins (20 votes to 10 votes)

Maybe that's already covered in the other thread.

Sorry Los, I clearly misunderstood the "you have 2 weeks to score this fight" part. Please accept my apologies.

If you wan't something more recent I'd like to suggest the Abner Mares - Yonnhy Perez draw.
