Brit Forum - Thoughts on Jones & Hopkins Bouts (Tonight/Tomorrow)

To be honest Beeston i have little interest in either of these fights .... focusing totally on Khan and Mitchell fights this weekend .

 

Hopkins should be comfortable, old, rusty, whatever, I dont see anything in his opponent that will bother him.

Danny Green has more of a shot but then RJJ isnt completely done yet so again I think he'll be reasonably comfortable. Will probably watch this one in the morning if im around.

A proper look at Green's record shows that he's lost to Beyer twice, and to Mundine. The Mundine loss doesn't augur well for him against Jones, but meh...

That's the only question: can Green catch Jones once or twice, or can Jones hurt Green early and stop him from getting into the fight where he might make a dent?

For Hopkins - he'll probably get some rounds in. He's too smart to risk the multi-million showdown against Jones, so he'll keep calm and take few risks. If he sees an opportunity, he'll put the guy away, but won't do anything to jeopardise the megamatch.

No questions, other than will Hopkins get old overnight?

 

Hopkins may look a little rusty but he should have too much class for Ornelas who has lost when he's fought at basic world level. He should give old Hopkins a good work out though.

Jones, on the other hand, has a much tougher proposition. Green has world title fight experience and he has the power to hurt Jones Jr. Green also has home advantage. His only downfall being lack of activity. He should push Jones Jr hard and show us what the old Superman has left to offer.

I'm hoping both Hopkins and Jones Jr get through with victories making their up-and-coming rematch a very interesting one.

B-Hop - Looking rusty in a near shutout.

I think Bernard outpoints Ornelas pretty widely.

Green could be a tricky fight for Jones but I think RJJ also wins on points.

People calling Hopkins a legend is bull**** as well. defended agaisnt nobodys and gets massive props for fighting smaller guys.
