Just read the above article and wondered how the forum would vote considering that Mexican fighters are very popular amongst the British posters:think. You can use any criteria you wish for your pick, whether you think one is more exciting than the rest, one has the better wins, one has the better style, one is a nicer dude, whatever tickles your fancy. Vote and discuss if you wish as it would be interesting to see which is the forum's favourite:good.

My personal favourite- Erik Morales, for the sheer amount of guts and fearlessness he showed us which led to many exciting fights, but I also think that his boxing skills are underappreciated by many due to his balls-to-the-wall style.

The best- Juan Manuel Marquez, I think it takes a very special fighter to come back from the horrific 1st round he had against Pacquiao in their 1st fight and in the opinion of many, win the fight. He is also going very strong for a guy in his mid-30's and showed great ringsmarts against Juan Diaz in their 1st fight, although how much he has left after his period of activity remains to be seen.

My personal favourite - JMM. I could spend all day waching him counter punch. Primarily a 'boxer' but he likes a ruck. Watch him against Diaz where he spent a lot of the fight on the ropes but fought fire with fire. He could've boxed Diaz's lugs off if he chose to. He always in the shadow a bit too much for me of Morales and Barrera.
And as someone said before anyone who can get put down three times by Pac and still come back to get a draw deserves serious plaudits.

The best if you matched them prime for prime: I think Barrera would beat Marquez (yes they did fight but that was not Barrera in his prime) I think Marquez would get the better of Morales we all saw the Barrera - Morales trilogy.
Aaaaarrrrrghhh - I go for Barrera as the best only just from JMM then Erik.

I genuinely think its almost impossible to separate these 3 in terms of accomplishments, ability etc, so it just comes down to personal preference and what kind of style you enjoy. Personally i've never liked Barrera, maybe it was the Naz thing, possibly for hitting Marquez while he was down, **** knows. I've just always thought he had a bit of a ****ish side to him, whilst i respect him as much as anyone.

Loved Morales for his whole mentality, fought outstanding competition and the last person to beat the consensus pound for pound king of the last decade. My personal favourite would have to be JMM though, i just love his counter punching style its a science how he studies opponents for a few rounds then adjusts and generally takes them out. As Adam mentioned the heart it takes to come back after that 1st round against Pac is incomprehendible to me, and its a travesty that he was denied victory at least once against him.

Morales without doubt! why? because i have a foot fetish in boxing and Erik had some of the best footwork i've ever seen. I really have always had a soft spot for El Terrible...fell in love with him when i saw him give Injin Chi a boxing 101 with one eye. Barrera always struck me as a bit cold and although i obviously have huge admiration for him and Juan Manuel, Morales with his emotional issues just connected with me more.

Damn...hard to pick but i have a soft spot for JMM. Why? Because this was a cautious counter punching technician who was mocked and slurred throughout his early days as non Mexican fighter. They didn't like the way he fought. He then adapted his style to become one of the most entertaining fighters of this era..if not the best! His combinations are poetry in motion, His heart cannot be questioned time and time again the mans put himself through the grinder. He goes to people's back yards when most can't even get balls to fight in there own.

The other two were guys i watched as a 8-9 year old. I was in awe...i wanted to be like them. I wanted to be in a battle like Barrera-Morales I. For me i prefer JMM as a overall package but damn them two guys were/are special.

I hate this question. Both MAB and JMM are two of my favourite boxers. I'm in agreement with the article. I think, at the moment at least, JMM is half a step behind the other two in terms of achievements. In terms of who is best I think MAB rates the highest of the three personally, due to a combination of his skills and achievements, with him having the advantage head to head over Morales being the deciding factor.

From a personal standpoint though, JMM is far and away my favourite. Technically he is superb, a brilliant counter puncher yet he delivers some of the most entertaining fights in boxing. He is tremendous to watch. But it's also the amount of heart the man has that does it for me. To be knocked down 3 times in a round and claw back a draw, which some maintain he won. He comes through knockdowns, cuts and all sorts of adversity and finds a way to win. Heart of a lion that man has!! A true Mexican warrior!!!

It's like choosing your favourite child.

I love them all but for different reasons. If you held a gun to my head I'd probably go with JMM. The way he came back from the first round thrashing Pac gave him was simply incredible. A true Mexican warrior.

    Morales I would say.

He may have lost two of three against Barrera, but the Pacquiao win keeps getting bigger and bigger for him. Of course you could say JMM beat Pac twice.

Its definitely hard to pick, but I still stick with Morales as, just about, the best of the three.
