    For a million reasons it is too hard to say. Morales was a better lower weight fighter. Barrera won the final fight. JMM beat MAB but it was controversial and at the wrong end of his career and the right point in JMMs. Morales never fought JMM. Morales beat Pac but Pac beat MAB and JMM but some would say JMM beat Pac. JMM and MAB have gay losses to Jones and Norwood, Morales doesn't have those gay losses until he moved up too high and got a bit old. Morales beat Jones who beat MAB. Some, have Morales winning the MAB trilogy. Morales to many is a 4 weight champ as he should have beaten Diaz.

    So much to consider. Too hard to say. 3 legends is the only thing we can be sure of.

    I've voted Morales to take the stones because I think he had the biggest stones. Come one, come all and for every mother ****ing second of the fight he'll be willing to trade leather like you said something bad about his mother.

    Yep, this is a **** of a question and that's why I thought it would make for a good debate. Sorry:lol:.

    I am a fan of all three, but I think most of the regular posters have known since the day I joined this forum that JMM is bar far my favourite fighter, not just of this era, but ever (consider the fact that I'm not a huge boxing historian, though; my pre-70s 'knowledge' is pretty non-existant). I absolutely love the dude. Ever since I first saw him, I have been captivated by his skill and determination and I've been hooked. I could watch the dude fight all day. I know I may have sounded a bit gay in the 'which fights did you find painful to watch' thread, but I was genuinely worried watching the PBF-JMM fight. It's one of the only times I've ever watched a fight and wanted it to be over for reasons other than the norm, like a fight being boring or something else relatively mundane.

    To add to that, I know it might sound daft, but JMM has been a role-model of mine even as an adult. It's hard to put into words what it's like seeing a man take absolutely everything that can be thrown at him and then, without feeling sorry for himself or entertaining the idea of quitting like many others in the same position would, seeing that same man regularly scrape himself off of the canvas and/or fight his way back from a points deficit. It's hard to imagine what goes on in the head of such men. And this is what makes him so special, at least to me. Fighting back for what? All of the intangibles, all of the things that can't be bought, that's what: Pride. Heart. Dedication. The warrior mentaility. The adulation of his army of fans. And, above all, the one word that means the most to men like JMM: WINNER. To be a winner when everyone else has you as down and out. He's not quitting for anybody.

    I've always thought MAB edges it although they are clearly near-on impossible to seperate. Obviously the Pacqiuao victory has really grown in terms of acheivement in the last couple years but I feel MAB edged the trilogy and the domination of Naz was a great victory. JMM is just behind both of them IMO, a victory over one of the top 140 guys would probably push him above both of them.

    All 3 remarkable fighters though and will rightly take their place in the HOF :good

    Barrera; got the better of Morales in their trilogy IMO, has the win over Naz.....its very close but I think Barreras all-round skillset (when its close I then go to application of skill to denote who I think was the superior fighter) pushes him above these two.

    JMM's late career surge might just pull him further up. As it stands I have him behind Barrera and Morales, but Marquez is without a doubt my favourite of the three.

    I could go into this in massive depth but have done a few times before :good

    I think Morales' victory over Pac is downgraded a wee bit due to the fact they were wearing Winning Gloves. I think it put Pac at a disadvantage (and that Morales wouldn't have been disadvantaged with Reyes)

    Erik Morales for me. He epitomises everything that a fighter should be.
