You got him and Benny clearly ahead of Duran? I think Benny, Duran and Gans are all perfectly feasible shouts for top spot, with Williams and Pea as 4th and 5th.

    1. Robinson
    2. Greb
    3. Armstrong
    4. Duran
    5. Louis
    6. Pep
    7. Gans
    8. Ali
    9. R.Leonard
    10. Whitaker

Robinson was the best, Greb might be better, Armstrong was unique & unequalled, Duran is my favourite, Louis is the greatest puncher, Pep is the greatest ever defensive boxer, Gans was special, Ali is Ali, SRL was iconic & Whitaker walked on water.

Duran is at no.6 on my alltime P4P list. It's fair to say that he ranks very high on my list of all time lightweights, I guess the top five are very, very close there.

Carlos Ortiz, Roberto Duran, Benny Leonard, Joe Gans, Pernell Whittaker. And Ike Williams :patsch Also in my top 30.

So I was wrong to say it was a two horse race really.

I am properly stoned, it's time for bed.

To be fair all of those guys feature in my top 30 P4P fighters  I could feasibly rank my no.28 guy at about 15. There are a lo of fighters out there with astounding dense records (I mean, what about Packy MacFarland?! Where d'ya rate him? Or Bivins? Or Holman Williams?!?) but the top 20 or so are all fighters of truly the highest calibe.

Well, really the top 100 is/should be, but...you know what I mean.

Greb all the way at no.1 for me. But my top five are essentially interchangable. I've liked my current listing for a top fie (those fighters will probably never change, it's everything after them that can shift around) for a while, but really Langford should be at no.4 and Charles should be at 5. But my list is already 'set in stone' :|

I like anyone who has the balls to put Louis above Ali, it's something I've never been able to take the plunge on :good

It might not feel right the 1st time but give it a try:good (no homo)

Louis was better than Ali, Joe is the greatest ever HW imo & Ali is surely top10 p4p so logic dictates that.....

If self doubt ever creeps in just watch this and relax:smoke

Don't worry Mo, I admire Louis' technique more than any other fighter probably. He always sits just outside my top ten. He is IMO the greatest composite puncher of all time. That is a pretty decent bit of kudos to be carrying into top 10 all-time P4P arguments IMO.

Rob's just doing it to wind Flea up..... not sure it'll work because it's so blatant, putting him in at 10.

I'm not sure even Mayweather truly believes that he's top 10, it wouldn't be much of a stretch to name 50 greater fighters.

The potential was definitely there though.

Rob has put MY LIST with Floyd in there

Rob, would love to see you list genuinely, given that you're admittedly not arsed about a lot of old timers it would be a different slant and of some interest :good

I think the thing that stands against Ray is his lack of defences of the title obviously this was brought about by on and off retirements but despite the fact he has some top wins. Hagler, Hearns, Duran, Benitez. Its lacking a more general depth of top quality opponents that might warrant a higher placing.

If you replace the meaningless Duran 3rd fight and the Hearns rematch and replace them with Barkley. Then throw in a Cuevas and Pryor at welter. Now you are onto something!
