http://news.boxrec.com/news/2010/exclusive-britain-falls-line-and-changes-cuts-rule Well done to the Board for finally sorting it :happy
:woot Two of my main bugbears have been cleared up in a matter of months - three judges for all title fights/eliminators (a step in the right direction but not ideal) and now getting rid of the bull**** cut stoppage rule. :happy Now then..... 1. Official rankings/ratings for titles 2. Less bull**** one point gift decisions/draws for the prospect over the journeyman 3. Improved quality control over journeymen coming from outside the UK - by increasing sanctioning fees.... hopefully the better domestic journeymen get more opportunities Make it happen!
imo only if theres an intentioal butt should you go to points before 4 rounds,if a guys cut by a punch why should it go to a tech draw if hes not defended himself properly and potentially behind on points?
I would hope that with the rules changed an intentional butt will be show out of the ring by the referee...:yep I think with the changes made they will still bring twists and controversey...:yep Hope all is well with Ricky, hope to see you on the 4th...:good
Boxing is going backwards, Britain always had the right cut rule, the rest of the world was wrong... I hope this speculation is proved wrong, it would be sad to see another part of this (seemingly once) great sport ruined. If it is not broken, why fix it? There is nothing wrong with the cuts rule in Britain as it stands.
the clarificaion at the end of the article states... so if theres an intentional butt causing the stoppage the offender is disqualified, and if the cut is caused by a legal punch the cut boxer loses by tko
An improvement but still sounds a bit hazy to be honest. Will need to read it a little bit more. It seems to have gone from penalizing Boxers with cuts to penalizing guys without cuts.
