i guess we'll have to wait and see how our refs interpret the rules - particularly if a cut is judged to come from a punch or from an accidental or intentional butt
Finally. Why a technical draw though? The US and Europe use No Contests, no real difference but its strange that they're digging up an old rule that's rarely used now, instead of being the same as the rest of Europe.
No - you're a thick c*nt. If the injured boxer (whose cut has been caused by an opponent's intentional foul) is behind on the cards when it's stopped (after it was allowed to continue in the first place) he gets a draw. Otherwise, a boxer would have profited from fouling. ******.
Why do people think this is a good thing? What the hell was wrong with the old rule? We were the only country in this sport to use common sense. If you deliberately butted and cut your opponent and the fight needed to be stopped, you were thrown out. If a cut was by an accidental butt or a punch, you lost the fight, and depending on the circumstances got another payday in the rematch. You bring in these silly foreign rules you see honest fighters getting screwed over and losing fights they should not. Surely everyone remembers the horror story that was British boxing's biggest star of the time (Honeyghan), losing his World Championship because he was fortunate not to be cut in an accidental butt? Sure Honeyghan got his rematch, but he was never the same fighter again. The BBB of C are making a grave error tinkering with rules that have worked fine for over 120 years...
It's good to hear the other side. But the new rule makes more sense to almost everyone I've spoken to.
