Oh yeah definately. They got stung big in the past and are obviously apprehensive to fork out again after what happened with Harrison. We just have to convince them that boxing is worth the investment- after all, we're paying and, tbh, I'm not a happy customer. I only watch MOTD and the occasional documentary on the beeb- I see myself as a subscriber for a service I don't watch:-(. Anyway, I've ranted enough now, I'll give it a rest!:good

Even if Audley had turned out to be GOAT it would still have been a bad deal by the Beeb. They bought the first 10 fights, most Olympic champs don't start being involved in interesting/ competitve fights that early in their careers.

Its a shame the Beeb wasn't so strict over approving the opponents....

They're doing a ****-poor job on providing updates on this. The Bunce campaign makes it look feeble in comparison thus far, IMO. There's no update on the amount of people who have signed up or how the campaign is doing in general. Just signed up using another name seeing as I was on there anyway.

    Signed.

It is the place of the BBC to provide entertainment where the free market fails. That is what the BBC is supposed to be for. It is not supposed to be dictated to primarily by viewing numbers, it is not the BBC's job to compete on such terms.

Can this be merged with the Bunce Sticky? We could then have one 'Campaign' Sticky:think. Just a thought.

Hopefully the beeb sort something out for the boxing fans. Even if they put it on BBC3 or something as a start because they even show highlights of the lower league football now. I know they would hit the ratings with any fight on BBC like ITV had done over the years and they would get more people watching on BBC compared to other stations. No FA Cup football no England internationals no Cricket ( no big loss ) all they have is 6 Nations , f1 and Moto Gp and Horse Racing dont get me wrong there sports coverage has gone downhill.

I've often thought that the BBC would do well out of a sports channel, Leighton. A BBC 5 channel similar to Radio 5 would be brilliant, IMO. They could show sports live when they don't have the time to on other channels, show highlights and repeats and it would also mean that they would have a channel specifically for the sports fans amongst the BBC licence fee payers.

Boxing has to be on the BBC as well, IMO. Campaigns, such as this one, also show that there is a demand for it. The BBC should trial boxing but small-scale at first, IMO. Start off with a few British and European title fights and assess where they go from there. If more people are watching boxing on ITV4 than are watching F1 on the beeb then it's a no brainer, really.
