He had it easy. He was the only world level boxer in a country of over 5m. How much better could you have it?

He didn't sell himself as the everyman, it just happened to be that he was the everyman; although you realise his promoters were the one's selling him and his profile? It wasn't Ricky.

You're right Scott never smiled and he always had a look on his face like he had just been given terrible bad news. But he was witty and that's character is it no?
I always remember before he fought Nedal Hussein. Hussein said if he didn't win the World title he was going to start selling motors and Scott replied "Well I'll have a Mercedes then, pal"

You said it yourself, he sold himself by being who he was, didn't have to put on some arrogant personality (I won't call it fake because Broner is a legit ****) and rely on people watching him because they wanted him to be beaten, I'm not scottish and I was a huge Ricky Burns fan, so were some American podcast hosts after the Mitchell and Moses performances. and its strange you calling Ricky world level as part of your argument when in the other thread you do nothing but slag off his career and his opposition and say he got exposed as soon as he fought at world level.

I can tell you it isn't Terrence Crawfords personality that sells him in Omaha

It wasn't who he was that sold, it was the fact he was the only world level boxer in a country of 5m.

You massively over-exaggerate the impact his personality had; he didn't have one!

As for the world level comment, you can be a world level fighter without winning at that level. Chisora is a prime example.

Burns did win at that level though, Rocky Martinez was held in much higher regard in Puerto Rico than Chelo Gonzalez, Moses was definately a world level win and is still on a winning streak, Mickey Bey who somehow beat Vazquez is pure gash and he would be considered a top level world class lightweight these days, the Burns from the Moses and Mitchell fights would murder him...hell, Mitchell would KO him let alone Burns at his best

You undermine your arguments when you state *******s such as "Moses...and is still on a winning streak". Since the Burns fight he's fought solely in Namibia against absolute nobodies. Hell, which huge wins did he have prior to the Burns fight?

What huge wins does Omar Figueroa have? A split against Jerry Belmontes and a life and death brawl against Arakawa? If Burns is limited then Arakawa is barely out of the starting blocks, hes not as good as Kobori who Moses beat for the title, in Japan

Mickey Bey? is he a better champ than Moses or Burns?

    As of right now? Yes.

For me, Burns doesn't hold a single legitimate world class win during his reign as LW champ and considering how many defences he made it was disgusting. A clear paper champ.

Of course Broner has made more money he's a lacey style HBO yank hype job given money to act G and make fans/haters. Only World star hip hop subscribers thought he was any good. The UK does not buy bull**** like that **** Broner.

What the UK i's bad for is hyping up **** fights to milk the arm chair fans with our paper champs. Yanks do it too but the UK are shocking imo

Burns is a proven a level above paper champ :deal and he has/had a big support in the west of Scotland since Martinez he just didn't get big money for the shows and he doesn't have a big sponsor giving him millions. He got shafted out of a lot of money by his greedy promoter and he has a a psychotic manager who I think I's now developing dementia. Ricky is now looking weaker all round without your hate fun on here Big Billy B  What's your thoughts on that???? :D

If you think Burns is as dull as dishwater your a complete idiot or just trolling. It makes no sense at all :nono I't makes him more a G :yep

He was one of my first picks in terms of talking. I hate disrespecting boxers but he was quite dull from my memory. Though, he did do a half decent Ali shuffle while Prime Jones was ****ing him up

Clinton was tough as hell though. He had immense grit. Loved watching him fight.

The rest of your post was utter drivel.

With regards to Fatty, he ruined Burns. Rewatch the Gonales fight, Burns look liked an amateur.
