    Now moving on from the technically good fighter thread think it's worth seeing how this goes. Top fighters please! World level or Prospects..

    Gooners post on Groves was very good and insightful, now we have the obvious mention of Froch but i'd like to see other names thrown out there and with a bit more meat on the bone.

    DeGale's punch form isn't great, worked well on inside in last fight but has plenty of flaws technically from early on he was messing with defensive techniques.

    I posted about Chisora clumping with his left hook, he should be dipping over lead leg, turning right shoulder over it and bring it round and hitting with knuckle part of glove more. Also his use of the cross arm defence is bizarre. I've never liked it and probably never will and i do question fighters who use defensive techniques that they see fighters use like Mayweather etc. I always believe fighters should use there dimensions and ability's to find best defensive techniques.

    Anyways i'll let you lads crack on :good.

    Fury & McPhilbin ;)

  3. I wouldn't have Froch anywhere near the top of the ''most flawed'' list to be honest.

    I'd say Khan has lots of flaws.

    Footwork = abysmal
    Defence = abysmal (I'm taking them to prove my chin, innit)
    Variety = N/A

    etc.....

    Cleverly has plenty of flaws, ones that could be corrected with proper coaching - such as footwork, a better guard and picking his shots more. Add 20-30% in those areas to what he has already - a brilliant engine and plenty of balls - and you'd have a serious fighter on your hands.

    I'm just talking about the ''higher rated'' fighters here.

    Lower down you've got some pretty ordinary ''champions'', like Chris Edwards, Shane McPhilbin etc.

    On principle I can't watch anything that refers to Lamon Brewster as 'Great'

    As for this, any Ingle fighter.

    Amir Khan. No inside game whatsoever, poor footwork, not great defence, and would rather throw 8 unanswered slaps which dont connect rather than digging in with 3 shot combos.

    Fury leaves his chin in the air and is too open to the right hand. He needs to either tuck his chin in, or defend himself better after throwing a jab. It's really not that difficult.

    Khan is far 'worse' than Froch.

    I dont think John Murray is technically flawed as such. He has his own head down, come forward aggressive style where he likes to be on the opponents chest for 3 minutes a round. Unfortunately for him, he just doesnt have the power to make that style work.
