    Of course he isn't.
Born in Hungary, moved to the UK as an 8 year old.
Moved to Australia at the end of his first career in his late thirties, before becoming "Aussie Joe".

Well, that is not what is happening here, is it? We don't compare the hws of the 1890s-1900s to today's heavyweights but we compare their accomplishments in their times. That's what the OP asked for. And Fitzsimmons' outshine Fury's by a very clear margin.

    edit: grammar.

Well he was definitely announced as British back in the seventys when he was fighting for the British belts. He moved to Australia then became a citizen of that country.

Exactly! I don't see how anyone can argue this. Once you bring up Mercury Tasmanian the argument is over.

I would like Fergy to counter the statement, "that makes she....."

He's referring to Freddie Mercury (Farrokh Bulsara), who was born in Zanzibar, which is now part of Tanzania, a country in Africa.
His parents were from the Parsi ethnic group community in India.
Tanzania didn't actually exist when he was born though, it was the Sultanate of Zanzibar.
    Mercury is considered British.

The actress Olivia de Havilland was born in Tokyo, Japan to English parents. She was a big star in the 1930s to 1950s. No one has ever suggested she was a Japanese actress.

We must forget not that Hitler was Austrian before he become a Nazi though his father was from Gestapo. He was a European but I don't think he boxed in Australia.

I'm not pretending any thing. Bugner was always Classed as British when he was active in the 70 s. If he'd have won a world title back then he'd have been labelled as British same as fitzsimmons.

Every bit of boxing literature I have read states he is English so I'll stick with that. And bugner was a British fighter when he was fighting. I'm not doubting that.

If Tyson Fury goes onto beat Joshua and Wilder id possibly put him down as #1 .

Its very achievable but unfortunately the higher ups are well aware how good Fury is and they will continue to freeze him out of the sport.
A mega cross over star like AJ doesn't come around very often. Thats a golden egg that must be protected.

    Bugner has triple citizenship.
At the time he was fighting the Ali's and Fraziers he was classed as British for his fights,he already had British Citizenship, he hadn't set foot in Australia then.
It wasn't until his late thirties that he moved to Australia then took out Citizenship.

Bruno couldn`t mix up his punches very well, he had good power but a weak chin and bad stamina, I also didn`t like how he held his hands in terms of defense. Tyson had sacked Rooney and Bruno still had trouble hitting him, Lewis was off form against Frank and hadn`t learned stuff from Steward yet but Bruno`s jab was a problem for him in the same way Mercer`s was. Witherspoon was a lot heavier than when he fought a great fight against Holmes, these are Bruno`s best defeats.
