I refuse to fall for Fergy's blatant attempt to "measuring with two cups of tea". Who does that?!

Just because he thought of himself as British, he was listed as British in all of boxing publications and he held the British Commonwealth belt doesn't make it so. As they say, "half a yak does no a village make ....."

In my opinion, Fitzsimmons wasn't a British boxer. But everyone has their own criteria.

In your mind does it hurt your argument that he hadn't moved to Australia yet when he fought for the belt?

How about the BBBOFC title same thing?

I can't really say who is the second best British heavyweight. To me they're all fairly unremarkable, and are a VERY distant second compared to Lennox Lewis.

Okay, I see what you mean. The fact he didnt actually go to Australia until 15 years later he fought for the British Boxing Board of Control title as an Australian because of the Manuel Charr exception and well you gotta admit he did end up living there later! People seem to give too much weight to the first 19 he claimed to be British when he was a contender challenging alleged Americans Ali an Frazier.

Fitzsimmons was born in Cornerwall therefore he is by desperation a Corner .Buger was a Hunger but became an Enger and after later a Down Under . Errol De Havalot was a Transvetite citizen from Transvetania. Is that summary right?

Yes. Though you have ignored Mercury Tansanian of Tasmania who could be a devil I for one will accuse you of measuring with two cups of tea.

She certainly is at the ripe old age of 102!
Only last weekend she was appointed a Dame of the British Empire by Her Majesty the Queen!
