This shows how bored I am this morning . A world title= 5 points Euro belt=3 points British title=2 points Commonwealth title=1 point Frank Warren Commonwealth: 1.Rogan 2.Cleverly 3.Hall 4.Khan 5.Burns 6.Broadhurst 6 points British: 1.Francis 2.Macklin 3.Brook 4.Mitchell 5.Marsh 10 points Total: 16 points Hennessy Sports Commonwealth: 1.Barker 1 point British: 1.Murray 2 points World: 1.Froch 5 points Total: 8 points Frank Maloney Commonwealth: 1.Olusegun 2.Booth 3.Edwards 3 points British: 1.Napa 2.Haskins 3.Edwards 6 points Euro: 1.Moore 2.Munroe 3.Napa 9 points Total: 18 points Let me know of any mistakes/omissions etc. :good After last night Maloney has come out on top thanks mainly to his Euro champs. However, I think in terms of financial clout Warren is still numero uno. Left out the likes of Matchroom and Hayemaker as they're still not on the level of these three.
Long term Frank is still going to be top dog. Apart from financially, he has the WBO in his back pocket of course, he will claim more world champs this way. He also has by FAR the best prospects.
Hennessy and Maloney both prefer the WBC route so that will mean there fighters will face tougher fighters for a title shot. Warren's fighters can pick up a vacant WBO belt and defend against pretty much who they want. Warren has the biggest stable as well and as you say the best prospects.
Commonwealth: 1.Olusegun 2.Booth 3.Edwards 3 points British: 1.Napa 2.Haskins 3.Edwards im willing to bet Tony Jeffries makes maloney more cash than these 6.
So if Haye beats Wlad, Rhodes beats Small, Lindsay beats Appleby, Barnes beats McLoskey, Watson beats O'Donnel, Dodson beats Quigley they would be on 19 points. Hayemaker could become the best promoters by the end on 2009.
that hasn't been working out too well recently though has it? could the wbo be getting tougher in insisting on good mandatory opponents? e.g cook has had to face luevano at featherweight and martinez last night. macca was originally required to face banks or ramirez (and he possibly would have had trouble with both) and ended up with the equally tough ola.
No it hasn't. As you say the mandatories are getting tougher and also the likes of JMM, Cotto, Wlad and Pavlik hold WBO titles.
Apparently Rogan has no contractual agreement with Frank Warren(so technically isn't a Warren fighter), but the likelihood is he will stick with him as Warren can provide him with decent money aswell as the fights he wants/needs.
:good I assumed he was with Warren as I've read a few interviews where he says he'll be looking for Warren to get him the best fights possible.
