Read about this guy last week. Pity he lost as getting him on this card after 2 fights is very good management (who wouldn't want to box @ MSG???). Fight was poor - I would have scored it a draw. Looks like he could make cruiser. At only 18 he may grow into the heavyweight division but will never be a big heavy to compete with today's giant heavyweights.

Would be good to see other Scottish guys get on cards like this - wonder if this is the plan for mtk? Anyone know?

To say half of mtk's stable in Scotland are ex white collar is a total nonsense. Just look at their website and see who they actually have. Brophy just won the commonwealth; Butcher and Cornish about to box for the British; Simmons will get a title shot soon; plus lots of prospects.
And if you think they are in the wrong game because they get a 19y/o a fight at MSG in his third fight I think you need to reassess what you call good management. I would want to sign with someone who could open doors like that for me.
It would be good to see more positive posts on here and not just bitter and inaccurate ones! !!

Gary Murray, Marc Kerr, ibrahim, ratu, McFarlane and that's just The ones from the top of my head. Maybe not half but Its miles more than any other promoter and there will be more I haven't mentioned no doubt.

The fact they and for that matter you think sending that boy over there to embarrass himself is good judgement or promoting when he is clearly extremely limited is not good promoting mate. it was horrendous to watch.

The will be lucky if they have one Fighter in the Scottish stable that will win a British, fair enough brophy won the commonwealth but in the grand scale of things it really isn't that big a deal if your serious about winning major honours.

You stick being an mtk/mgm cheerleader mate and the rest of us will have our own opinions

Haha I support boxing in general m8! And I like to see Scottish boxers do well.

It might be more than the other promoters but that is a numbers game because they have more boxers. And I know Ratu was not white collar - he boxed amateur with the army. He didnt have many fights though.

Knocking Brophy's Comonwealth win is poor - what a turnaround from the Groves fight AND his opponent was top 10 with 3 of the major governing bodies so it was a good win against the odds!!!

I wasn't knocking it, he done well to travel to aus and win the title but if he or any other fighter has aspirations to go the highest level a commonwealth title is not all that. Imo humble opinion of course.
