Ok this thread might be a hit, or it might bomb.

Basically I 'love' finding out amateur boxing craziness or interesting results for example Micheal Hunter stopped Nicky Cook in the amateurs.

Amir Khan was 3-3 in his first six and would go on to beat Craig Watson, Gary Buckland, Bradley Saunders, Victor Ortiz and Steve Williams amongst others.... Anyone else got any good stories suprising results?

I was under the impression they're still not allowed. I agree it would be a fantastic idea. Imagine the ABA semi finals on two sky cards with a main event and summary. These fighters need faces. faces sell tickets.

I hate amateur boxing - well....... what it has become really more than anything.

    On topic.......

I believe Juergen Braehmer holds two stoppage wins over a certain Ricky Hatton.

Johnny Nelson went 3-10 in his amateur 'career' as he described it in his book.
