Gavin McDonnell, Callum Johnson, Jason Welborn and Rocky Fielding all KO'd.
Does the darts promoter worry about their health?
Who are the next sacrificial lambs going to be?

It has happened for years and years, one of the first fights I remember is Ray Leonard destroying Dave Boy Green in 1980. If a fighter is medically capable, who are we to rob a fighter the chance of a good pay day and/or the chance to fight a big name in potentially an historic boxing building?!

Gary Lockett and Michel Jennings were also humilliated in fights they didnt have a minimun chance of winning. You can add Khan vs Alvarez to the list and even Brook vs Golovkin to a certain degree

Adrian Stone and Gary Lockett fighting Shane Mosley and Kelly Pavlik come to mind.

Thing is, it's a great chance of a life-changing payday for some of these guys and how risky is it? It's arguably more dangerous fighting someone your own level than going in and getting outboxed in three rounds.

And every now again a Lloyd Honeyghan comes along to be fodder and beats/destroys a fighter some were suggesting was the finest fighter on the planet...

I can understand it for life changing money but when someone like Welborn is going down in weight for buttons its terrible on his manager/promoters part.

Professional boxing is built on cynasism , boxers being mismatched happens on most bills the best they can hope for is being compensated financially!

That was a disgrace in the sense that it was deemed appropriate for him to be challenging for that title.

If they fight low level fighters forever they get slagged off. If they try against better fighters they get slagged off. If they dodge good fighters they get slagged off.

It's ****ing easy being a boxing fan isn't it. Moan moan moan!

Lloyd Honeyghan vs Don Curry goes to show that just every once in a while the gamble and reward is worth the risk. As already stated, this is nothing new, top ranked American champions looking at some world ranked Brit as a stay busy fight is often the only chance a Brit fighter has of a decent payday and a shot at glory.
