british boxing as a whole

    can anyone tell me honestly that there are any truely world class boxers anywhere in britain? when i look at every weight class i can't find a place in the top 5 for anybody! welcome any comments to help change my mind on this. thanks

    It depends on what you call world class.
    We have fighters who compete at world level and do very well. Are you talking about Elite World class such as Pacquiao Mayweather and co or you talking about ability??

    We don't have a abundance of world class boxers at this time...for one reason or another. We have a few and then a few who are around the edges but not top level world class.

    Haye
    Probably Khan
    Probably Froch (depending how you rate the loss to the man who lost to Ward).

    haye was the one i thought closest.

    i'm not sold on khan and think there are better light welters in top 5

    froch is also just outside imo, i also think that he has lost a bit of class lately and has been lookin a bit rough and novicey in his approach to his last few fights

    Whats your top 5 supermiddles?

    Its hard to keep Froch out of the top 5. Theres Ward, Bute and Kessler but after that Froch has a win over Dirrell and Dirrell has a win over Arthur.

    I think that there are several hot prospects that will win world titles.

    Carl Frampton and James DeGale are the stand outs for me at the moment.

    Two others that I think will go a long way are Tony Bellew and Liam Walsh.

    So Kessler loses to the #1 guy and gets ranked at 5th while Arthur loses to the number 2 guy (who has lost to Froch) but gets ranked at #3?;)

    You posted a list and I commented on it. Don't get bent out of shape over it. If you put up a rankings list on here the chances are you're going to get comments, get asked questions and have to back the list up.
