Aside from the Sky Ringside 'Toe to Toe' podcast does anybody listen to any others that are worth a listen ? Most of the others seem to be 3 hour long telephone conversations of dubious quality, knowledge and shall we say...not suitable language for an open plan office. The Toe to Toe seems to be best go a bad bunch (than Nino bloke seems ok too) though I'm not really sure what Spencer has done to earn his 'scholar of pugilism' introduction.
The Boxing Rant - while hosted by two Americans does focus on UK and continental European boxing in addition to the American scene. A decent podcast.
bunceys boxing podcast - Steve Bunce & Barry Jones From Brooklyn to the word - Paulie Malignaggi & Peter Cards by far the best two
listen to podcasts from time to time but i usually keep meself updated through the week or watch boxtalk every sunday
Maybe one or two people on here could make one, then maybe invite members from here on once a week to have a chat about up and coming fights and give opinions on the latest news. Create something beautiful, You'd have to invite a broad mix of posters, from long time posters to the irritating wrong'uns that dribble filth. I would pay money to hear some of the trolls on here trying to string a sentence together on a podcast
Hatman strikes back needs to start doing them, his knowledge, fairness and overall understanding is next level
I was going to suggest the Boxing Asylum Podcast but when you mentioned bad language and an open plan office perhaps it's not the best one... they say the C word every five minutes!
Boxing Asylum is my "guilty pleasure". Ringside is professionally done but Spencer Fearon really irritates me. His manner of speaking suggests that he is either truly stupid, or thinks everyone else is. All those horrible slogans ("visualize to materialize!"), and the spurious historical information he spouts, which is never relevant, more a needy attempt to portray himself as a man of letters. Boxing Weekly has a good podcast but it is a bit irregular and the presenters always sound very tired and unenthusiastic - but the actual content is generally very good. Bunce for all his faults does good pod. He might occasionally be a bit pro his paymasters but he is a good presenter - "a proper boxing man" - enthusiastic and knowledgeable without being didactic (note well Mr Fearon). He has a pod on the William Hill website before big domestic bills, and I hear his old regular gig (used to be for ESPN) has been resurrected. There is also a talksport pod with Gareth A Davies which is worth a try (although I find Mr Davies a bit superior and smarmy at times).
