Any recommendations? Willing to give podcasts another chance since I could never be mithered with them.
George Groves Boxing Club, Boxing Life stories with Tris Dixon And Bunceys one on 5Live All good listens, this is coming from someone who's not really into podcasts either
Life stories is great. If you want something a bit out of the mainstream then I'd recommend Highfield Boxing, he does divide opinion and is contradicting at times but I like Terry.
Steve Bunce has done a good job since Costello left. He'll usually have an ex boxer along side, often Barry Jones. If I had a criticism it would be that at times both SB and guest are sounding more like cheerleaders for the promoters than independent commentators. Presumably they feel that's the only way they continue to get access, most of the time it's not so blatant I can't listen.... Boxing Life stories is the only other British one I've listened to, they can be good. Mannix's one is the only other one I listen to regularly, but that's far more focussed on American fights.
Not exactly a podcast but I do enjoy listening to Talk Sport's Boxing Show. Simon Jordan is entertaining, albeit controversial.
Don’t listen to many just every now and then, listened to loads of Tris Dixon’s years ago though and they are good. Groves had Degale on his recently. I stopped listening to Fight Disciples, seemed to go big headed.
I listen to Bunces one, Simon Jordan and Specer Oliver one and the opening bell. All good to be fair.
I listen to Boxing Asylum Nuthouse Boxing, they really dissect a fight and don't care who's ego they might bruise. While talking about ego, I also like Carl Froch on Fighting, he has got a massive ego, but he's still quite dry and funny, and does take the **** out of himself plus it's on video, so I watch it while I'm on the runner, his missus pops up occasionally as well, they usually end up laughing and clearly have great chemistry. I like his guests as well.
Terry C from Beyond boxing and Boxing asylum are the only 2 I listed to regularly. Life Stories is also good when its on. They had a big break from releasing content recently.
I like the George Groves one, and the bbc one with Steve Bunce, although the amount of time he uses the term 'aftertimer' gets on my nerves a bit.
Forgot to mention, Ringside Rewind with Tris Dixon, John Rawlings and the incomparable Ian Darke, (really miss him from the halcyon days of Sky with big Glenn Mccrory) that has some really really funny tales on it, they seem to have stopped though, such a shame
Never heard that one. Share your opinion of Iain Darke, his boxing life story episode is a must listen.
