I now take a pen with me to any show I go to just in case. I went to the WSB at York Hall at the start of the month and got the autographs of Andrew Selby, Fred Evans and Sam Maxwell (whose family I sat next to and who joined them later on - seemed a really nice guy.) I felt a bit like a kid again but it's quite an enjoyable hobby. Will try to get Richie Woodhall's at the next one as he's part of the tv's commentary.

Thanks, I just thought you might find the "Gas" reference in a my post a bit puzzling!:D

I read somewhere KB got taken to the cleaners by a couple of ex-wives but reading in between the lines I got the impression he wasn't the most dutiful husband in the world.

No we didn't. We paid for the privilege of watching them risk their health for our pleasure. I'm sure all the boxers at these events would have their photo taken for free out on the street, but they attend these events on the understanding they get paid, and the fans who turn up know that.

i knew that i wanted the sugar ray and ken buchanan pics, so i was happy to pay forthem, i paid for the bellew autograph just because he was a sound bloke and i respected his earning a keep-(any human with a family is entitled to earn). All the others never asked for a penny for their thoughts on boxing;-'kid in a sweetshop' stuff!-

Thanks for sharing your experience mate, great to hear about Witherspoon in particular. I've met Bellew too, top guy.

Sad about Bruno's brother, how did he die?

Cancer I believe. Frank idolised Michael, used to spar with him as a kid, Michael wrote Frank Bruno heavyweight champion of the world 1986 over family door when he was still in ams, so when the fight with Witherspoon was announced it was billed as ' the dream fight' because of Michaels prediction, whilst the year was wrong he got to see his little brother live out the dream eventually . I'm sure frank seeing Witherspoon will have brought it all back
