British Calzaghe fans: will you give Mikkel Kessler the welcome he deserves?

I hope they will. Kessler seems like a nice guy and is an excellent champion who deserves respect. But he's gotta expect some hostility fighting in Joe's backyard.

 

No they wont. It is not personal it is just how British sport works, the opponent gets booed no matter what, sometimes they will be applauded afterwards.

 

Yeah I think the hardcore boxing fans might refrain from booing Kessler. I doubt many will be cheering for him though.

It's the football hooligan type muppets who will be booing Kessler, but it's all good fun I suppose and adds to the event.........................

I love fair play, and remember when Ronaldinho was kicking ass at Bernabeu and all the Real Madrid supporters stod up and clapped, goosebumps!

Having him as a Kessler supporter after a Kessler victory over Calzaghe is just about my worst feckin nightmare (ok - i'm sleeping like an angel - but still) . I'd have to give up supporting Kessler i think.

I have respect for Kessler and will applaud him after the fight, but y'know... the fights not in Switzerland!

 

I will applaud Kessler at the end win, lose or draw. But it will add to the atmosphere to boo his ring entrance! Come on man, I've paid over £100 to see this fight, I should be able to shout "BOOOOO!" for a minute or two. I would never boo a national anthem but others will unfortunately. To avoid the booing, Team Palle should have stumpted up the cash to hold it in Copenhagen! :good
