British Chins: fact or fiction

    You all have heard the phrase glass jawed brits

    Amir Khan, Bruno, Haye, Hatton, Lewis, Enzo, Kevin Mitchell. And many more have got no chin. None.

    Do you think it's true or false that our fighters are more likely to have poor punch resistance and if so, why

    I think there is an element of truth in it. Not that British chins are genetically inferior, but a British fighter with a weak chin is more likely to be protected than say, a Mexican fighter with a weak chin, and therefore less likely to have it exposed once he is an established name in the sport.

    I love how Hatton's chin is supposed to be weak yet he spent his whole career blocking punches with his face :lol:

    Yes i know Pacquiao knocked him into next tuesday, but you try running headfirst at Manny Pacquiao with your chin in the air, see what happens.

    Even Bruno's chin ain't too shabby,the shots he took off of bonecrusher were insane before he went down.He just doesn't know how to react after taking a shot.

    Yep. That's why i can't be arsed talking boxing much on here.

    Golden rule on esb is if you have ever been knocked down/out/dazed by a punch = you have a chandelier hanging from your jaw.

    Nonsense, Hatton didn't have a beard like Hagler but he could take a ****ing shot, in his heyday, he would take 2 or 3 just to get on the inside.

    Apparently Fury, Price, Groves and Degale also fall into the "glass jaw category" because they have been buzzed or flash knockdowned at some stage

    It's a load of ****ing bollocks if you ask me, it's all these idiots who post on here who get a hard on over peoples chins who spout this nonsense like that "glass jaws exist" and all the chin checker idiots.

    Bottom line is, unless you have a Mayweather like defence you are more than likely gonna get put on your ass at some point, after all, it is a boxing match, not a tickling contest as Hatton used to say.
