Can anyone think of any other notable cutmen in the British game excluding Mick Williamson?

And also where do you guys think these guys learn their trade?

Just from simply working the gyms/corner gaining experience?

    Ian 'Jumbo' Johnson

Search his name and an article will come up about how he got into it.

Glasgows Wullie (Basher) Connolly got his experience working voluntary with the Ambulance service on the streets of Glasgow at weekends

Scotland once had a guy they called a 'legendary' cutsman by the name of Dunky Jowett, I dont know much about him, just remember hearing his name quite often when I followed boxing as a young man. hes passed away now but this thread reminded me of his name, so just thought I would give him a mention:good

Scotland also has Benny King, a very good cutsman.

Dunky Jowett gets a good mention in the Chic Calderwood article on the Scottish Boxing Hall of Fame website.

    Williamson is brilliant.

You see some cutmen with a towel or some cotton buds that they've stolen from Boots on the way to the arena, farcical stuff.

He seems to have all the gear, the king sized buds, the vass, everything.

I'm sure there's countless fighters that would have been stopped if it wasn't for him. Hatton would have been gone against Thaxton for sure.

Jimmy Tibbs, not only is he a brilliant trainer, he is also a very good cutsman.
