:patsch When you are former middleweight fighter winning a title at HW is great, only 4 or 5 fighters in history of boxing did that you idiot.
John Ruiz boring as he was was much better fighter than LACY, John Ruiz would KTFO Calzaghe but there was no way for Joe to face any HW fighter, doesnt have it in him as he said "i know my limitations".

How do you feel about Joe Calzaghe not fighting one world class southpaw in his entire professional career?

I know you point at Roy for not fighting "savage" punchers, and being a steriod cheat.. But you seem to give other fighters passes for similar things...

Your hero Vitali gets a pass even though he failed a test for a banned substance and admittedly abused steroids earlier in his career.. It seems it isn't cheating if the banned substance is Rico approved.

Also you point at the weak spots of Jones' resume, while you give Calzaghe a pass when there are even longer streaks in his resume of weak competition.

What is your excuse for Joe not fighting southpaws? Do you find it odd? Does that say anything about all this "adversity" Joe overcame?:think

Chris Byrd was a former Middleweight who fought Wlad X2, Vitali, Ike, Tua, McCline, just about everyone. Didn't see him handpicking John Ruiz :rofl

I haven't discussed Calzaghe on here in quite some time. The guy has been retired how long now? :huh

I will say this for Calzaghe he was willing to travel and make big fights. Jones wasn't for some odd reason until he started getting KOed and his bank account balance was in double digits. Just all seems kind of odd to me. :think

I'm a fan of Calzaghe but this is the truth.

In his prime Roy was very very special.

What do you have to say about the lack of southpaw opposition?

And what "big" fights did Calzaghe travel for?

It is obvious Roy just doesn't know when to quit, and still enjoys fighting.. He lives in a nice house and gets paid by HBO to commentate fights. He also didn't have to travel far for his big fights on HBO PPV, the world stage.

Calzaghe was a Southpaw himself. That question is pretty pointless.

Roy has been KOed on 3 Continents. How many was Calzaghe KOed on? :think

Jones became the first former Middleweight title holder to win a Heavyweight title in 106 years. Jones also became the first fighter to start his career as a light middleweight and win a heavyweight title.
    But you are clueless :hi:
WBA HW title > milking **** WBO belt

How is that pointless? Southpaw or not, never fighting a world class southpaw in an entire boxing career seems crazy to me. How many other world class southpaws can you name that never ran into a good southpaw in their pro career?

I am glad you finally took out the "brutally" Koed on 3 Continents.:good

Bryd was a great fighter.. Had a good chin at HW too..

Do you find it odd that he and Roy suffered the same fate after going back down to LHW?

Who are the other 3-4? I know Toney and Fitzsimmons are two of them.

Michael Spinks moved up to HW and beat THE champion there, Larry Holmes. Fitzsimmons moved up to HW and beat THE champion, James Corbett. Roy beat one of the weakest titleholders of all time in Ruiz.

Then you look at the video and it all becomes clearer.
The video follows Jones career as to who was there in the division he fought in at that time.
It mentioned that there were 3 SMWs that would have been potentially good match ups in Benn, Eubank and Collins when Jones was a SMW, but Jones had gone up to LHW before Calzaghe won a title at SMW.
Kmac seemed to miss that bit out :patsch
