He overcame his fear of flying?

    Yeah, when Roy was 40.

    That's assassin for you.

His interpretation of Joe's quote, goes down as the greatest comment ever written on this forum, IMHO.

Joe Calzaghe, 1999 - "I'm not chasing after Roy Jones. Be honest, Roy Jones is a good fighter, and I don't want tough fights. I just want big money."

    assassin's interpretation =

"Come on Roy! Stop messing me about, I want to fight."

    :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl

    Let's compare Roy's best wins with Joe's.

It won't look good for you.

You damn right Joe wouldn't have moved up.

It took him all his time to get to LHW, even though he was starving himself to make SMW.

It took him FOUR YEARS to get there, after he'd said in 2004 that he needed to move up.

    What happened?

Did Joe and Enzo set off for America in a hired pedalo, from Cardigan Bay and then get lost?

Calzaghe just happened to stumble upon cocaine AFTER he decided he had better get out of the game before he lost his precious 0. Ok then if that's the case Roy only used Ripped Fuel that one time. See how that works?

As far as Joe's fear of flying it's funny how it magically vanished when it was safe to fight Jones and Hopkins.

Shows how highly rated Jones was, even in the UK.

And this was before he went to HW etc

Joe had a natural walking around weight of 14 stone.

Joe could have fought at much higher weights, if he'd have wished to do so.

It wasn't embarrassing at all, because Roy was almost 40, and had been destroyed TWICE, FOUR YEARS EARLIER.

Then to top it off, Joe had claimed on three occasions that he wasn't bothered about fighting Roy, because he was past his best. The word he used, was POINTLESS.

Richard Hall had TEN TIMES the amount in his system, that Roy had.

    TEN TIMES the amount!

Yet Roy gave him a merciless hiding.

Hall then went on to give Dariusz M trouble in two fights.

There's nothing out there that could give you the gifts that Roy had.

This argument is mostly for Rico, who hates Jones, but gives other fighters passes for similar things he preaches against Jones. Calzaghe and Klitschko are two fighters I noticed he seemed to have a soft spot for..

So I was just using that against his logic, for example, he said Jones didn't fight any "savage" punchers...

So I brought up Calzaghe never fought an elite southpaw in his entire career..

He gives Vitali a pass even though he tested postive for a banned substance and admittedly used steroids early in his career, but brands Jones a steroid cheat..

See where I am coming from?

The Vitali thing you have completely wrong he had a catabolic steroid administered to him as an amateur by a Doctor to heal an injury. Jones was busted as a Pro with anabolic steroids. Huge difference there. Huge.

Additionally, I am not a huge Calzaghe fan. Did I watch his fights that were on either Showtime or HBO? Sure. But I didn't go out of my way to see him other than that. He came to America and absolutely schooled and embarrassed Jones. The fight wasn't close. That is about all I have posted about him and that I think he should have left his Promoter much earlier than he did.

Of course he wasnt, watch the documentary. When Benn, Collins and Eubank were fighting each other, Calzaghe wasnt a world champ then, and that is the time they were mentioning for Roy at SMW, then Roy went up to LHW
