British/Euro commentary is 10x better than that of the USA

Their accents suck.

 

I always prefer the SkySports version of fights for this very reason. They actually talk about the fight and make it seem important. The HBO commentators are either jaded or completely out of it (Merchant).

To be fair: German commentary is awful in 9 out of 10 cases.

The only German commentator who makes me chuckle is Werner Kastor as he calls a spade a spade. This said: I'll take the showtime commentary over Germany commentary any day.

 

HBO's people suck, but half the time Sky's aren't much better. IMO, ESPN's team is a level up from Sky's.

 

I like to watch fights with American commentary sometimes. We ain't really that much better but a lot of our guys are former boxers where as the HBO team ain't. That's why I liked Roy Jones when he was on there, he added a lot to the team.

I think Tyson would be great on HBO.

I do like to watch a reply of a fight in British or American commentry depending on what I have already seen.

I know it should not, but the commentry infulences my thinking on the fight so it is good to see both points of view (or a neutral point of view).

Clearly you have never heard Jimmy Magee commentating on a boxing match......It gets surreal at times
