I think people are going way overboard with him at the moment, lets see him beat some other top class fighters before he overtakes Mayweather, Marquez, Ward, Sexy Sergio etc

I don't see anyone at either bw or fw who can beat him, he's an atg.

Needs to do something at another weight before he gets to number 1.

All some of you ****ing ******ed?

One win - no matter how good - doesn't make you P4P #1. You need an extended period at the top and multiple victories over top guys. Rigondeaux is clearly an amazing fighter and his win last night was one of the very best victories of the last 10 years or so, but he hasn't done anything else.

Lower reaches of a top 10 at best for now imo, possibly even just outside it untill he follows it up with wins over other top guys.

So if Lomachenko turned pro and beat Mayweather in his first fight, you'd rank him P4P #1 after one professional fight when guys like Ward, Marquez, Martinez etc have been fighting and winning at the top level for years?

Rigondeaux has the skills of a top P4P fighter and proved last night he can do it on the biggest of stages against an ATG prime fighter, but he needs more than one victory before he can be put alongside Floyd, JMM etc.

I agree with boxalot, you don't just become the best in the world after a great win.

And for the record why are there so many people spamming the Brit forum nowadays?!!!

If you're going to go no.1 off the basis of one win, surely that win has to come against the consensus no.1 at the time, no? Donaire was my no.3 pre fight so obviously he displaces him but I would have him top 5 rather than no.1.
