A Few Of My Favourite Fighters.

    Hatton - English
    Paccy - Philippino
    Marg - Mexican
    Cotto - Puerto Rican
    Haye - English
    Tyson - American
    Dela Hoya - Mexican
    Naseem Hamed - English

Im British but i certainly dont have a Bias towards British fighters, I Like fighters that fight and mix it up, i love fighters that are exiting and then make your heart rate rise. Most american fighters dont leave their own country yet expect every other boxer to come there to prove themselves, if you look at the current champions list most are from outside if America so this is a lame arguement for weather a boxer has proved themselves. The only reason that boxers would need to go to America is for the money not the fighters. Unfortunatley Growing up in Britian the most fights we get to watch are with British fighter so naturally we know them and become fans of them more than other fighters of different nationality.

I dont buy this argument about needing to go to America to make good money. These European champs can make excellent money fighting in Germany or the UK and I am sure there are plenty of examples to back that up.

However, I think all top level fighters should fight overseas now and again to embrace the global appeal that boxing has and show some love to their international fans if they have any.

That's fine but there is nothing wrong with wanting fighters from your own neck of the woods to succeed. It encourages other fighters to come through and raises the possibility of you seeing great fights on your own doorstep. I would nearly always back a Briton fighting another nationality.

Most Filipino people are unashamedly pro Pac and why shouldn't they be? He has done much to put their country on the map.
