Can't really argue against Wood and CBS. I'd struggle to make a current top 10. It's not the greatest era for British boxing.

Probably Wood although Nick Ball and Liam Davies have had good years.

I will nominate Conor Benn. Never has a boxer received so much publicity :)

Really has to be Anthony Joshua after cleaning out the Heavyweight Division with huge wins over Feeble Franklin, Hot Dog Helenius and Appalling Wallin.

Never see a run like it in British Boxing History and hope the likes of Terence Crawford, Inoue and Josh Taylor take notice of these exploits and start fighting the best around.

    1. Wood
    2. CBS
    3. Denny

Agree with others - has to be Leigh Wood, 3 top level fights in a calender year, if only all boxers were like this the sport would be on fire.

Title loss against a feared big puncher, straight back out to regain the belt within 3 months before taking on his biggest domestic rival a few months later, on top of that a decent guy aswell.

Outside of that I'd go, CBS living his dream winning a world title at a sold out football stadium, who would of thought that a couple of years ago - an unbelievable rise and journey.

More lowkey, but worth a mention for Tyler Denny. I always like stories when the fighter has done it all the hardway, gone on shows as the away fighter and caused an upset or 2, grafted hard and built up a decent fanbase, this year won a European Title in his home town.

Has to be Wood I think. Though CBS deserves a mention for ridding us of Okolie.

We should be discussing Maxi Hughes in this and but for some disgusting cards he would probably be most people's choice.

What because he beat crappy Kambosos? He was very unfortunate I agree, however Wood is clearly the only real choice for British fighter of the year.

I think it’s looking a bit sparse on the true world scene for current British boxers at the start of the year. Hope to be proved wrong.
