    Someone mentioned Paul Scrap Iron Ryan was going to challenge for a world title until he got flattened by Thaxton.

    He is the ultimate IMO.

    I don't think his undoing was anyone's fault other than his own, though. His downfall was his own ego and belief that he was invincible.

    Of course the buck stops with him, but I do feel that being pushed to move up to featherweight at a time when he could probably have still fought - and dominated at bantam/super-bantam detracted from whathe could have achieved. Before the Steve Robinson fight was made, the WBO made him mandatory challenger for a 21-year old unbeaten Barrera. One could only wonder what might have been...

    Good call. That boy was supposed to go on to be something special but sadly he couldn't take a punch at domestic level, never mind at world level.
