More testing opposition than Khan has been in with though and he has similar rankings to Mitchell! As we all know the belts are nonsense.Should just be 1 world title then Warren cant give us all the usual flannel about youngest world champ etc.I think Mitchells career will take off this year and he will earn the overblown rankings he currently holds.
I am a huge Johanesson fan and he is good domestic boxer but no better than the opponents Khan has faced. He is a good puncher so I guess he trumps Khan opponents in that area. But the fact is that Mitchell has only faced one top end domestic boxer who was a class below European level, beating Carl should not qualify Mitchell to a world ranking.
I think a better judge on where a fighters are REALLY ranked would be the Ring top ten or some universal site like Fightnews or IBO...
i see the have dean francis ranked higher than Adrian Diaconu and Glen Johnson.... also, maybe these haven't been updated recently because i'd of thought choi would have cracked their featherweight top ten after beating up no 7 ranked derry.
Yes, even though ANTHONY "Sugar Ray Clay Jones Jnr" SMALL is ranked, Bradley is not. Interesting one that.
I must admit I am a fan of the IBO rankings system, which is computerised and doesn't take into account 'other factors' such as Frank Warren sucking off the President of the WBO.
I agree, my first post on here was about how I thought that the IBO, though not perfect, provided a much less biased ranking system than the WBA/WBC/IBF/WBO. The ring may be better at times but I still think they have a tendancy to rank fighters in the spotlight higher than those who are not, rather than purely on results. There is one guy on here who absolutely hates the IBO and every time anyone posts anything remotely positive about them he storms into the thread and posts the same argument every time. I swear he sits at home refreshing a search for topics with 'IBO' in them. I admit there are a few odd anomalies with the IBO, but that is nothing in comparison to the laughable rankings of the other sanctioning bodies. I actually agree with him on one thing - I believe that the ring is closest to the 'correct' rankings, but if they ever offered an official title then, as with all the rest, I think the influences affecting the other sanctioning bodies would get the better of them, they would lose their integrity and the rankings would suffer as result.
