We have one fighter in the ufc, we use to have 2 but one retired if my memory serves me right and the one that is still active alexander gustafsson is ****, sure he won over diabate but that isnt much to brag about
Sweds use to kick ass but look at them they are pretty much ***s now that cant even throw a half decent punch unless they have some blood from elsewhere.

But still your post was entertaining to read :good

Well Im glad you got the joke, I was worried you would post youtube vids of the Swedes greatest yodellers, that would be a fate worst than death. I was actually there when Guffblaster beat Diabate. He tried to apply for British citizenship after the fight because he was ashamed of his home nation too much. But we rightly told him he cant apply until he gets his ass kicked by Matt Hamil and still wins. Because thats how envious the rest of the world are of us limeys, we are more loved than deaf guy makes good

Now study the above pic of our beloved Queen Liz with reverence and awe and behave yourself until you hit the 1000 post mark and we will get along fine :thumbsup

British mma seems to be lacking behind some of the other countries, but their boxing is doing damn good right now.

I was watching Bellator 40 and 41, recently. It was superb but full of the generic wrestler come strikers. and it seemed very samey, throwing some ugly looking haymakers and then clinching up and grappling for a bit. Don't get me wrong, and the action was non-stop.

Often you get two wrestlers who try to do a decent job of keeping it standing, with their recently learned striking skills. It's undoubtedly effective, but not very aesthetically pleasing, to me its like watching two Neanderthals battering each other.

One of their champions is a curly haired guy he's like this wrestling phenon, I forget his name. But he just straight out wrestles, and beat everyone by a mile, it is truly amazing if slightly boring to watch . These wrestlers are like the red squirrels taking over. apart from the odd exception, there is a huge list of strikers who are likely to get culled by the better wrestlers. and that includes pretty much all the British guys sadly.

Good points James. But I think the way Bisping's developed his ground game to help him keep the fight standing should be an inspiration to the British up and comers that it can be done. He's improved leaps and bounds, although admittedly not to top level US/Eastern European standards, but still, the improvement is there since the Evans and Hamill fights
