Calzaghe could win this by employing a similar style to that of Leanord in the Hagler fight flurry his punches get in and get out keep your defence tight a puncher of Fitz's ability could drop Calzaghe early doors if he was to reckless going in.

Calzaghes unorthodox style would keep Fitz off balance and most likely prevent him from getting his big power shot off. This would also be made harder by Fitz's upright style as Calzaghe flurrying would make it hard for a leaning back Fitz to counter.

Undoubtedly Calzaghe would get hit in this fight but he probably has a good enough chin to withstand Fitz at 168 and is fast enough to avoid the really hurtful shots that Fitz could employ agaisnt his more ponderous opponents.

Calzaghe flurries his way to a decision without troubling Fitz greatly but eats a few heavy shots but nothin substancial enough to be telling in the ultimate outcome of the fight

    My analysis:;)

How would the bigger, faster, iron chinned, more mobile, more versatile ATG Welterweight do against the natural Lightweight Manny Pac?:D

Styles make fights - these two are a match up ... i agree ATG v a guy who defies everything in the ring ... ODLH an atg ex middle weight world champion outclassed by a natural light weight !! ....

Love or hate pacman you cant help but admire his achievements ....

I will say one thing for Bob Fitzsimmons on this issue.

120 years on he is still the most devastating puncher under 168lbs that ever steped into a ring.

The more you research his career the more chillingly the legends start to ring true.

Don't get me wrong Pac is an ATG and one hell of a fighter but, at 147, he gets banjoed by Leonard. Not even close. Pac vs, Duran at 135 would make for a better thread.

(ODLH isn't a Middleweight World Champ, he kopped a cheap belt)

Hopkins DEFENDED his MiddleWeight title against Oscar and won. Lets not pretend Oscars WBO belt was worth anything, its just playing into the Alphabet Boys hands.
