Well, I started again playing in the A-League as Sydney FC. I won the league by 10 points, then made it to the final (the A-League has a finals series) by beating Brisbane 4-1 in the tie, then in the final I got done 0-2 by Brisbane (they got a 2nd chance in the finals) after dominating. Am halfway through the next season and am currently holding on to 4th spot. It's been a tougher year, and I have lost my way a bit. I have the Asian Champions League at the end of this season, and if I go alright at that, I might be able to get some good offers to manage at some bigger clubs. Would like to manage either Leeds, or Bristol City next and see what I can do with them. Hows your game going?
Well, I won the league with games to spare at Man Utd. Only lost 2 games, one was when I already won the league and I couldn't motivate the players. Got to the final of the CL and lost to Chelsea and they were lucky as hell. Won the FA cup. I'm gonna try a new team for more of a challenge and to test my tactic, just gotta decide who. I'll start it this weekend. I'm thinking a decent team but not the best like Fiorentina, Paris St Germain, Sevilla. See if I can win the league with a team like that. Leeds would be pretty easy from the start, they have the best squad in league 1. If you move there ya never know what shape their in.
England aren't as good as Wales though - hell, I wouldn't make them much more than a 5/6 favourite to beat Italy after struggling like **** with a below-strength Argentina. :-( Australia are paying out at 1.20 - that's a banker if ever there was one. If they can draw against Ireland..... they aren't losing to Scotland.
$1.20 is great. I could only get them to pay $1.14 through the site I'm with. I've also added France to beat Samoa by 13+ in my multi. I thought the $1.50 they were paying looked pretty good.
This weekend's football: Leicester V Plymouth 4/6 Middlesbrough V Nottm Forest 10/11 West Brom V Bristol City 8/13 Pays out at a little over 4/1. Anyone got any warnings or words of wisdom to keep me off this?
Do not back against Forest at the moment ! ...there playing some nice football tight at the back and sneaking games by the odd goal . Theres a resiliance at Forest ... and to be honest Strachans hardy setting the world alight at Boro ....
I wouldnt back any side to get the points at Burnley ... Turf Moor is a fortress and the primadonnas dont like playing there !
Thanks for the post mryeags. I saw Forest against Newcastle a couple of games ago and wasn't impressed at all. They have had a nice run but from what I've seen and read they haven't played fantastic football or anything. I'm expecting a much improved Boro side now that the shock of Southgate leaving has sunk in and Strachan has had some time with them over the International break. You have to buck the trend to get value . . .
You can't really say that England aren't as good as Wales when judging the odds against the SH teams. It's horses for courses and bizarrely, Wales' game better suits them against NZ than it does Argentina. I still think a 10/11 Argentina +12 with Stan James is lunacy! We're really not that good against big, bulky teams as one dimensional as they are. 1/5 on a Wales win is no value at all.
Agree this is a risky one but if Wigan can take home all 3 points I see no reason why Villa can't. They are not a 'primmadonna' side and with the strong presence of Dunne at the back I think they should be able to handle the pressure from Burnley and hit them on the counter with Young and Agbonlahor in the side.
