Ya gotta have Kallis. Solid batting holds things together and gives the team great balance as a 5th bowler.

Close calls: Yusuf (inactivity went against him, if he got back to the form he was in he was UNREAL). Chanderpaul (negative and selfish attitude just went against him, my guys can score a lot of runs faster)

I'd go Sanga. I know he doesn't keep wicket anymore for SL, Prasanna does, but still I think he's one of the best especially standing up to the stumps. And he's a specalist bat, he averages over 50. **** it in a world XI he's getting the gloves back on.

I'm not sure Tendulkar is worth his place..... and Chanderpaul isn't (IMO) any more selfish than Kallis.

There's some crazy stat that Chanderpaul is averaging about 70 odd in the last 6 years:shock:It'd be tough to leave him out

Clarke had a decent Ashes tour in the summer. Before then he was guilty of not scoring runs on tour,I think he's maturing as a player.Add in his fielding and PT left arm spin I'd be tempted to include him.I might give it more thought and try to come up with an 11

Agreed but thats why I don't want another Kallis in the team. I tried to keep it balanced between offensive and more stoic players. And it was better to pick Kallis for the 5th bowling option as opposed to Chanders who offers nothing and is a weakling in the field.

Tendulkar is my dodgiest pick. Still think he's got that touch of genius on his day, the stats probably don't back me up...i havn't checked.

Clarke is great against the spinners too.

Clarke's good but I'm still not absolutely convinced he's in that top echelon. Not sure what it is about him :huh

I'd prob have him in the one day team

The spinner was actually hard to decide. Murali has lost something, he's not ripping it like he used to. He's bowling on rubbish decks but he used to be able to make things happen and now he's milked easily.

Mendis has his good and bad days, needs to prove himself

    Vettori/Swann...solid but not matchwinners

Still like Kaneria, he's got everything but hasn't performed for a while.

    Tough call.

    I like Vettori, always have.

He can bat at seven, and can take wickets or contain.

Kaneria is a hack, shiit in the field and McGrath-esque with the willow.

Kumble would have been my ideal pick.... Hauritz would have the ODI spot locked down IMO.

Yeah, I figured with that betting it wouldn't matter. I just checked Zaheer's stats and I'd prob change him for Johnson anyway. The stats don't back me up as much as I thought. I'm sure he's more skillful than Johnson who just wangs the ball down and hopes for the best, but stats are stats.

    Revised:

    Gambhir
    Smith
    Ponting
    Kallis
    Jayawadene (capt.)
    Yousuf
    Sangakarra (wk)
    Johnson
    Steyn
    Murali
    Asif

Okay, I think I got it balanced right now. Tendo's and Zaheer's stats weren't backing me up my intuitions so they're cut. Probably contraversial going for Jayawadene captain over Smith but I think he has more tactical knowledge and Smith is a knob.

Johnson is a better batsman but I'd take Zaheer's bowling. As for the stats, there may be other factors.Johnson will have bowled on more helpful surfaces in Aus when Zaheer will play alot of tests on feather beds in India.
