no its not...the odds are only relevent if you win..picking a winner because you like the odds is a sure way to lose your money

Only relevant if you win? No offence, but you haven't got a clue.

I agree somewhat with the last sentence, but I assume you are referring to a casual gambler.

Bookies get their odds wrong all the time, the reality is they won't accept bets from people who are long-term winners.

Never heard of arbitrage? Might be a sure way to lose money for most, but not all.

i understand that you can get good or better odds if you shop around that will make a difference IF you win...but just saying so-and-so is a big price at 16/1 so im gunna bet that is a mugs way of betting...

you are better winning at evens than losing at 20/1 that is what i am saying....

Please stop talking because you literally have no idea what you are talking about. Go and research value in betting and probability because you literally have no clue about gambling in the slightest.

Winning once in 20 bets @21 is better than winning half of the time at evens...

I'm not sure if we're crossing wires or not, but betting is about value and pricing up odds yourself to make a judgment as to whether the bookies are wrong.

For example if you feel Eubank Jr should be 2/1 at most to win by KO and the bookies have it at 4/1, that's huge value and means you should be placing a bet. It's largely irrelevant if it wins or not, because the point is to spot value.

If over time your calculations prove to be wrong, well, turns out you're **** at pricing odds and you should give up!

If Eubank Jr was 10/1 to win by KO and you think that price is correct or perhaps even a little short but still bet because the returns will be nice, then yes, you're a mug punter.

Will save my money. Tipping a BJS decision and Fury decision, but wouldn't put 500 quid on it ;)

Completely agree with what your saying. There is only reason to back something is if you think you are getting a good price for your money. When the fight was announced i really fancied Billy and he was 4/7 in some places i left that price alone as alot of people were backing Eubank and making Billy price alot bigger with some bookies havin him at 10/11 today. Which i think is great value for the proven fighter
