How is he getting on?

I think he's a bit old to come to league and be a success, the physical nature of the game will be too much for someone at his age who's already had a very hard career..... I think anyway.

 

He got a huge hit in the firs 5 minutes and was out on his feet ...hasnt had a touch since ... playing on the wing ...

I agree Beeston a great pro but league is a young mans game and only freaks like Menzies and Stanley Gene still excell ... and for thomas to try something new now im not so sure ! ....

Mind you ive had a pony on him scoring tonight :good .... im just a sentimental old fool !!

 

Yeah agree.... does anyone actually know how old Stanley Gene is?

I remember when Leeds had Paul Sterling from 1997 onwards, I think he was 33 or 34 when we signed him and was great for those four years until the idiot coach decided he didn't like black players :-(

We've got a lot of injuries, this set of young players isn't as good as the last lot (hardly surprising ) and they just aren't doing it. Plus there are a lot of old men in the side as well - I'm not doing to be a dick and blame the pitch though!

Just seen Thomas going off - he keeps going in with his head.... can get away with that in union because tacklers have to wrap their arms around, in league it's more hitting than tackling in the centre of the field.

That's exactly what happened at the start. He took the second play into contact head first and looked like Zab Judah on ecstasy.

In Union it's about contact on your terms, hence him going in so low.

Why hasn't this been picked up in training?

It's an obvious flaw to a part time league watcher like me.
